Bicycle racers have chosen The Columbia St. Mary's Great Downer Avenue Bike Race on several occasions as one of the top races in the U.S. according to VeloNews. Milwaukee residents agree as more than 12,000 people attend the race each year to enjoy the music, food, and fun that make this event a great neighborhood party. In 2008, come out early and visit one of the restaurants along Downer Avenue, enjoy live outdoor entertainment, and don't miss the children's parade and bicycle race. The fun isn't over once the racing is done - enjoy food, music, and dancing on Downer Ave. until midnight!

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the International Cycling Classic, Downer Avenue will be alive with a full day of racing. Make plans to be there!

Course Description: Flat

Directions: Take I-43 to the Locust St. Exit and head East on Locust St. towards UWM. Take a right on Downer Ave. There is a parking lot at the corner of Downer Ave. and Park Pl. or find parking on the surrounding streets. Distance from downtown Milwaukee: 3 miles (10 minutes). Roadmap
