Bicycle racers have chosen The Great Downer Avenue Bike Race on several occasions as one of the top races in the U.S. according to VeloNews. Milwaukee residents agree as more than 12,000 people attend the race each year to enjoy the music, food, and fun that make this event a great neighborhood party. In 2008, come out early and visit one of the restaurants along Downer Avenue, enjoy live outdoor entertainment, and don't miss the children's parade and bicycle race. The fun isn't over once the racing is done - enjoy food, music, and dancing on Downer Ave. until midnight!
